VMware Workstation Player

VMware Player is a type 2 hypervisor. That means it runs on your home computer, And it’s free to use.

Using VMware Player you can create any number of virtual machines. Running a multitude of operating systems. Brilliant. Let me show you how to do it.

VMware Workstation Player is now no longer available for download, at least

Since Broadcom took over the VMware, Workstation Player has been removed from the downloads pages. In short, it’s no longer available.

The good news though, is that Workstation Pro (which used to be the premium version) is now free. You can download it, install it and use it for nothing.

If you’re just setting out with virtual computers, I’d advise you to either use Workstation Pro or VirtualBox.
